Meet your instructor

Forrest Garvin

Lead instructor and founder of Carolina Preparedness. Forrest has spent 25+ years teaching preparedness, wilderness survival, and firearms safety — and has run this school for over a decade. A former military service member and published author of seven books, he's trained more than 2,000 students across the Carolinas.

His approach is calm, practical, and beginner-friendly: real skills you can actually use, taught without fear or hype.
