Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective January 1, 2026. Fair, predictable rules for changes and cancellations.

Owner review before launch

Standard tiered refund window used by most training businesses. Adjust the day thresholds and fees to match how you actually run classes, then have counsel review.

1. Summary

  • 15+ days before class: full refund or free transfer to another class.
  • 7–14 days before class: free transfer, or refund minus a 15% processing fee.
  • Less than 7 days before class: non-refundable; one courtesy transfer if seats allow.
  • No-shows: non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Class canceled by us: full refund or free reschedule — your choice.

2. How to request a refund or transfer

Email info@carolinapreparedness.com from the address used at registration and include your confirmation code and the class date. We aim to respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

3. Weather, safety, and instructor cancellations

If we cancel a class for weather, safety, low enrollment, instructor availability, venue issues, or any other reason on our side, you may reschedule to any future class of equal value at no charge or receive a full refund of the price paid, at your option. We will notify registrants by email and, when time allows, by phone.

4. Transfers

You may transfer your registration to another eligible class (subject to availability) or to another person, so long as the new participant meets any age or legal eligibility requirements (for firearms courses in particular). A price difference may apply.

5. Late arrivals and missed portions

For safety, we cannot admit participants who miss required safety briefings or arrive after a class has started. Missed classes are treated as no-shows.

6. Removal for safety or misconduct

Participants removed from a class for unsafe behavior, impairment, failure to follow instructor direction, or violation of our Terms of Service are not entitled to a refund.

7. Private training and consulting

Private classes and consulting engagements often involve deposits and reserved instructor time. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations with more than 14 days' notice may be rescheduled once at no charge; shorter notice may forfeit fees paid.

8. Gift certificates

  • Gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law.
  • Unused balances remain on the certificate and can be redeemed toward any eligible class or product.
  • Expiration dates, if any, are shown on the certificate.
  • Lost or stolen certificates cannot be replaced without proof of purchase.

9. Promotional codes and discounts

Promotional discounts apply only to the class or product specified and cannot be combined unless stated. Refunds for discounted purchases are limited to the amount actually paid.

10. Waitlists

When a seat opens, we offer it to the next person on the waitlist. If a waitlist offer expires or is declined, no charge is made and the seat moves to the next person.

11. Chargebacks

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback — we can almost always resolve issues faster than the bank can. Chargebacks filed instead of a refund request may result in loss of eligibility for future classes.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your registration applies to that registration.
